Walking Stephen

Stephen took his first steps a long time ago. February 19th was the day in fact when he took several steps for the first time. I honestly thought he was going to be an early walker. He started crawling very soon after he began sitting, which was around 6 months. It didn't take him too long before he began pulling himself up and walking along the furniture. But, he showed no interest in actually walking. He just did whatever was most convenient and usually it was crawling. However, even though he took 4 or 5 steps in the middle of February, he continued to crawl most of the time. If he happened to be standing and he wanted to get somewhere else, he would walk a few steps. Then maybe crawl the rest.

The twins were different. From the time they took their first steps they were predominantly walkers and within two weeks were fairly competent. It was only in the last week that Stephen has decided he wants to walk and not crawl anymore. So, I now am the proud mother of three walkers. How I love my boys and I am excited about their development and progress.

Here is Stephen this morning. Excuse how dirty he is. He is eating some Easter candy and it got everywhere!
