Money Money Money

Luke and Thomas have been talking about various things that they want at the store. Rob and I would ask how they would buy it. They would say, "With money!" We would ask, "Where will you get the money?" They would say that they would buy the money. With what? "With money?" This argument was cyclical. They really didn't get it.

So Rob decided it was time to teach them that money comes from working. He told both Luke and Thomas that if they filled a bucket with stones they would get a dollar. Thomas gave up after a short while, but Luke did it. Rob gave him a dollar and immediately took him to buy something with it so that he understood that he could work, earn money, and that it was worth something.

Since then both Luke and Thomas have earned several dollars. Next we are going to teach them how to use money and save money (and pay tithing).
